Quality Education (Phare: place for vision loss)
In Malaysia, individuals of vision loss are facing limited accessibility to many activities and sources. According to the World Blind Union, more than 90% of published material is not accessible to them. The lack of cultural education may lead to "double blindness", visually and culturally. Various reading equipment including audiobooks, braille e-book, book-scanning services, computers and more are provided. Phare means lighthouse and it is specially designed for people with vision loss. In addition, Phare exhibits artistic works and typological material which can be felt through the sense of touch. Therefore, they are able to experience art as well. Moreover, some of the reading equipment can be provided from the collaboration with the Malaysian Association For The Blind (MAB).
